(first off, yes I searched and didn't come up with anything)

So I made the brilliant mistake of losing the only key I had to my condo's mailbox. Canada post can't help, so Im needing to call over a locksmith to create a new key for the box.

Any decent mobile locksmith's you guys would recommend?

Thanks for taking the time to read this and offering any help or insight you can. :)

I recently used these guys:

http://www.affordablelocksmiths.com/

to come an rekey our new house.

$65 mobile service call, $10 / cylinder, $2 per key for cutting.

On Time, and quick.

and yes, they do do Mailboxes

I thought CanadaPost would come and change the cylinder on it and get you a new key?

Sounds like it's a mailbox bank inside a condo building. Not a Canada post bank on the street. Canada post cant help here, OP is correct.

^ Yeah, my co-worker was saying he did the exact same thing, (only his mailbox is a self-contained unit serviced exclusively by Canada post). I have to contact the condo manager, only she cant help either.

So my only option left is to deal with a locksmith.

Thanks for the two who chimed in, I'll call them when their open.

I called them and wow, the prices sure add up quick. Basically its minimum $110 for anything really. :nut:
All I needed was for them to open up the mailbox and make me a couple keys, I didn't think it would be THAT much just to do that.

Sure if the first guy doesn't pan out, I'll give them a call as my second choice.

Thought I'd bump this and see if anyone else had some thoughts. I need a couple new cylinders in my deadbolts, both are sticky and hard to use, and then want the garage re-keyed to match it.

How is it possible that beyond.ca doesn't have a locksmith as a member? We have everything else.

His dad came by and did a great job. I threw out his business card by accident, otherwise I'd give you his direct number, but I was quite happy with the results, only charged $90 and made a few keys for the new lock as well, works great.

I think I need a locksmith, I have a doorknob without a lock that needs to be changed/fixed.

Bought a replacement one but can’t get the old one out as the ability to move the piece out the wall has been lost. So technically I don’t need a lock serviced but a non-locking door handle.

I used http://purr-fectlock.com/
Good, efficient and went with him because he was free when I could be around the house. No complaints.

Just wanted to toss in a recommendation for Always Affordable Locksmith. They seemed to have good reviews, and had a location right by my house.

They came an installed a MUL-T-LOCK system for me. Guy who showed up was on time within 2 minutes, professional, and did a good job. Price seemed reasonable, even though it was after work hours (only $10 more than normal time).

I'll be using them next time for sure

+1 Used them for my mom's condo, they were prompt, professional and courteous. My mom liked them, and she hates everyone :)
