View Full Version : Free roundtrip flights, where would you go?

Well practically free, anyway..

Being lucky enough to have family airline benefits, I'm on a mission to start using them more often this year - since I'm not sure exactly how long I'll be able to enjoy having this access.

If you could fly anywhere in the world, where would you go, and why?

My 30th birthday is next week, and I'm thinking of just making a run for it to a remote and desolate location, enjoy some peace and quiet for a week or two, and come back.

Right now Chile is topping the list: fly in to Santiago and try to make my way down to the southern most city in the world, Ushuaia in Tierra del Fuego Argentina. See Cape Horn.

Advice about other far-flung, exotic destinations or dream excursions is very welcome.

Spent 5 months in Asia last year, traveled across Thailand, Malaysia, and most of Indo. in an Autorickshaw in a race put on by a company called "The Adventurists".

We were 1 of 3 teams to finish with a working machine. A great time that was entirely too dangerous and something I'd never do again ;).

After the race I flew to Bali, rented a motorcycle and spent a few weeks covering most of the Island, and on to Lombok. Would definitely go back, but not on this particular trip. I encourage everyone who has a desire to go there to do it, beautiful country indeed.

After watching the Top Gear s19 special, I'd definately go hit up Tanzania. No idea if it's safe, but holy eff is that place scenic.

Yes to all. African Safari would be an enticing experience as well. You're so lucky! :whipped:

if it were me, i would be as far away from anything with snow or ice as physically possible. after 6 months of that garbage, i dont know why it would appeal to anyone.

Really depends what you wanna do. It makes sense financially to go to the most expensive place you can think of but what is there to do there?

Madagascar would be sick. Flights to NZ and Australia aren't cheap. Galapagos? Iceland? Sweden/Norway/Finland? Heading to South American to see Patagonia would be amazing!

Antarctica, flights are ridiculously expensive and I'd like to say I've been on every continent in the world before I die.

My lifelong goal is to see 100 countries and all the continents.

So far I'm at 49 countries and 4 continents.
