If that car has Pirelli Sottozero tires on it then I think I know the previous owner...

Not at all. I would say the P.O. was quite mild/conservative as far as C63 owners go.

Enjoy it :)

That is awesome mileage, I wish my car got that kind of mileage. The C63 is my favorite car in it's class! Congrats.

Very nice choice.

This thread could do with more pics considering you've had tint added.

I was looking at 2012 C63's, and they are all pretty much 63 or 65k still throughout the entire country. I've found some really nice 2010's myself for around 45$, so OP is correct, it is about 20$k difference right now. We looked at a 2012 Ford Explorer that was 1$k more than the 2010 C63. I know which one I would rather have.

The wife...not so much.

I love this car. Obviously I am biased. I've said it before, I will say it again, my next car is the C63 coupe unless something happend that drastically changes my mind. But I really doubt it.

This is all fixed with a tune.

The C63 with a tune will pull on 600cc bikes in Calgary.

An E63 Wagon with a tune would be heaven.

A tune can't compensate for thin air.

Calgary is a city built for forced induction.

04-02-2013, 05:11 PM
It will be a dd for sure. I will get pics up in a day or so. I'm down in lethbridge so when I get home i'll break out the good camera and do some pics.

A tune on the C63 will net anywhere from 40-70 HP depending on the original Tune from the factory. That makes up the majority of the difference that the altitude takes away here in Calgary.

Without a smaller pulley, a Supercharged car has the same issues as an NA car here.

Turbos are the only way to make up the difference without changing anything. A car with a MAP sensor will likely make the same HP here in Calgary as sea level if the turbo is sized right. A car with a MAF sensor on the other hand, won't.

There are a lot of variables to play with here and FI is only part of the answer. But we are derailing the thread (haha).

Buster
04-02-2013, 08:40 PM
A tune would also get you more power at sea level.

You can't just magic up higher density air without some kind of compressor.

The S/C does help somewhat...although not as flexible as a turbo at altitude.

One of the reasons I'm happy that AMG went to turbos from the 6.2. Amazing engine, but not the best for here.

The N54/N55 are great Calgary engines.

The white looks fucking awesome!! You gonna wrap the chrome in the window trim too? I saw it done to a red one and it looks really good. Good that you got the later 2010 model so it had the better AMG pack. I think this was the year where they did the switchover (i.e. some early 2010 models didn't get the HP bump, red calipers and CF spoiler).

I thought chipping a P31 optioned C63 is pointless? That 30 extra horses I have is basically what the reprogramming does?

benyl
04-05-2013, 01:11 PM
yup. P31 extra "30 hp" is more like 50. No point in chipping.

Keep a blanket in the car for anyone who may end up wearing dark or newer blue jeans. You will never get the ink out of your seats completely if you don't watch out for that sort of thing. Gorgeous interior though.

My S4 used to have white alcantera seats and I would make my GF at the time sit on a blanket when she wore super dark jeans .

You guys must be smoking tires at every light to burn up the rears in basically 4 (max 5) short Calgary summer months. I have Ice Bears and they still look like they have 50% left on them after my second winter...and yes I do drive like a douchnozzle like the rest of you with all that torque.

I put on 265/35ZR18 XL Continental ExtremeContact DW at the beginning of last summer and they are good for at least this summer.

A tuned c63 won't touch a 600cc sport bike lol, not a chance in hell.

A 600 isn't running low 10s either, especially not in calgarys altitude.

I had a 08 hayabusa, with an average rider, average weight your probably low to mid 10's in calgary, get a pro rider probably high 9's, 600's here are probably mid 11 area, c63 at sea level is like a 12.3 so high 12's here, theres a few horse needed to get mid 11's. The car is very fast, and extremely powerful, but it is not a bike. I enjoy driving it way more than I did riding my bikes though, nothing like being almost as fast as a bike, while sitting on white leather listening to tunes.
