Moving out of the city for a couple years, going to just keep a small apartment here for the few days I'm back. My Mazda needs to go into storage. There's no engine or trans in it, I will have it towed.

I'm not looking to "rent a garage" or anything, I need a secure location it can stay on jack stands for about 24 months.

Does such a place exist?

Why is there no engine/tranny?

It's a project car, it's always being worked on.

I looked for a similar solution and I ended up with a garage for the price.

Yeah I was going to suggest renting a garage. I rented one for the winter for $100 a month.
It was very secure. They were cool with me working on it too. Perhaps put an ad up on Kijiji, and you will have people letting you know what they have and how much per month.

One of the companies I worked for stored a couple of there older work trucks here. Give them a call for pricing, its outdoor and just outside of the city so should be reasonable pricing.

lol at Shepard. I have some bad stories about that place. I used to park my summer car there over the winter.

My car was broken into, and the battery stolen. When I told them what happened, they basically told me to go pound sand.
 They didnt even offer to partially reimburse me for it.

I love how they claim its safe & secure storage.

If you are not going to be around I'd stay away from outside storages, mainly due to environmental conditions such as hail. Not sure if keeping a car under a tarp year long is a good idea also as you could develop rust from humidity I'd imagine...

your best bet is finding and renting a garage or a storage locker. Some places will give you a nice discount if you pay for an extended period upfront.

And yes, since you won't be able to go and move it or maintain it, you are going to want to have it stored somewhere safe from the elements so that it does not rust under a tarp that only serves to keep condensation trapped under it...

The car will absolutely not be stored outside. It needs to be inside, preferably heated (but not mandatory) an will have a cover on it. This isn't a "winter" storage. It will be 2 years, possibly more.

My only qualm with a garage is if the people sell the house, etc. also I don't like the idea of people being "around" it. Ideally, I'd like a shipping container or something stashed in a secret warehouse in a bunker deep below the city.... But I digress

I beleive sentinel storage and maple leaf have indoor storage ports that can fit a single car.

I used http://www.specautostorage.ca and it was the cheapest for a year of storage. It's heated, no one will come close to your car, it's just outside the city, your car will be surrounded by exotics. It feels like a showroom not a storage facility. It's spotless clean in there and the owner is a serious auto enthusiast so you know your stuff is in good hands.

edit: not sure about leaving the car on stands tho you'd have to ask about that. Don't see why not.

^Looks nice, but $220/month is a bit pricey.

Appreciate the offer! I may take you up on it. I would literally NEVER be around the car. Also, I'd need to move it within the next two weeks so June might not work.

Just checked that Spec auto site, says the yearly rate is $1050. That's only $87/mo. Sounds really reasonable to me?

In email correspondence with the guy it seems extremely legit. Mazda looks like it would be the shittiest car there. Nothing but exotics.

I will report on the facility once I get the car down there.

Hey glad you chose them! The guy is who runs it is super nice and it is legit. The first time I went there I couldn't believe how many exotics were there. And for the price I really can't imagine anything better.

Its 100% legit. When I worked for Enmax we surveyed power for that area and the owner came out and chatted. Wished I had the time to go check out the cars he had. You cant tell anything unusual is there from the road.
