WTB: Road worthy vehicle for <$1500-2000

A friend totaled their vehicle last week that one morning the roads were really icy.

Anyone getting rid of anything for cheap. She just needs it to be fairly reliable, and be something that will get her from A to B. Will be her DD to get to and from work.

Manual or Auto does not matter
Prefer <300K KM but I realize the price might not justify that.
Nothing that is going to require a large amount of work in the near future.

I would just frequent Kijiji and search by makes/km/year/body style etc. I often check to see what decent car might be available :-)

I got a 98 pathfinder but I'm more looking for $2,000 to $2,500....auto, new windshield, white....my daily driver, but for next winter it'll need new tires (currently on all season with about 50% tread, not the greatest for stopping on ice), and it leaks a tiny bit of oil when whilst running....interior is near mint....around 250,000km...everything works fine...I'll think about $2,000 if she's really interested though, anything under that I'd rather keep ity...pm me.

Also got my gf's red 98 but it's in way better shape so I'd want round 3 for it....
