If you're looking brand new, I saw the 2003.5 Mazdaspeed Protege going for 23998 at Sunridge Mazda!

I bet you could get a nice MK4 GTI in either VR6 or 1.8T for that price...

Who's the car for? Might help us knowing more about the buyer's preferences, intended use for the car, etc.

Go for a 1999-2001 Jetta VR6
or a
1998-2000 Audi A4 1.8T

Whatever you like. All of us are going to reply with our brand favorites.

ie, I would say a 00-03 Subaru Impreza RS.

the car is for my cousin, he doesn't really have any preference, its just basically goin to be used to/from work, and school, he might put some aftermarket parts on maybe.

Wow those are all pretty good, keep em coming if u got anymore!

IMHO, I would not buy anything older than 2000 if I was spending 20K.

Mazda Protege 5 is another zippy little option.

if u want speed........300zx, MKIV supra if ur lucky, Rx-z (latest gen).....get at least V6...... unless its a very lightweight 4 banger.

if u want class.........older E-class or newer C-class

More info please:

Age:
Gas Budget:
Insurance Budget:
Estimate milage/month:

Since you're looking around $20K. I can only assume you want a economical car. I would suggest a new Mazda 3. Base model should be around $20K after taxes and all. And it's a new car and you don't have to worry about break down and stuff.

It's 4 door so insurance should be cheap.

Impreza TS would be a good bet as well but it's around $24 after tax and insurance on Impreza is a couple level higher.

As for used cars... the usualy suspects would be Civic, RSX, Sentra and Corolla.
