Don't post "REPOST!" if you don't include the link to the original post. There are no cookies.

Just a quick FYI to the entire forum community. There seems to be a really large misconception on this forum regarding cookies being given away as prizes for reporting posts as "reposts!". There are no cookies! So please don't try to be #1 in posting that a new thread is a repost just because you surf the forums 24/7 and watch all the latest videos, or see the latest stuff. If it hasn't been posted on beyond, then it is NOT A REPOST.

In the future, if you are going to post nothing but the repost smiley, include the link of the ORIGINAL POST so readers can follow the link to see the original discussion.

I mean if its something that was posted recently, a mod will close it and usually they link the original thread. If its something old, its a chance for people who haven't seen it the first time to see it. Who cares if it was part of a fax broadcast in 1986 - chances are that at least a few members here missed it :guns:

beyond is FAR to busy for anyone to be upset about the occasional repost...

if something was posted the same day... ok.... but if you go a week without checking beyond there could be 10,000 new posts... it would be almost IMPOSSIBLE to check to see if what you are posting is a repost... nevermind if someone posted something that was posted a couple months ago (possibly 100,000 posts earlier)

it generally easier to ignore the reposts then to be the first person to spot the repost... like kenny said... do the forum a favour and post the links to the related threads... this goes for similar and overdiscussed topics too (illegal exaust, speeding ticket fighting, window tint etc.)

I've noticed that a lot of people are afraid to post new things because they think they're reposts. I think reposts should be allowed if they're more than one year old. By that time the posts would be new to enough people. The ones that have already seen it could ignore it or see it again.
