I did a quick google search and didn't come up with much, anyone know if there is a database for searching named companies in alberta? Just something to see what's available and such?

Thanks! :)

These people provide online NUANS searches:

Depends what you want. If you're thinking about starting a new corporation or renaming an existing one, then a NAUNS search can be done at most registries for around $95. This also reserves the name you are searching for 90 days assuming that name is available.

The other search is for a business or trade name. The search and registration cost me $53.50 a couple of weeks ago.

The rules for a corporation's legal name are stricter than those for just an operating or trade name. Check here for the official regulations: corporate registries (http://www.servicealberta.ca/Corporate_Registry.cfm)

It's very easy and simple to do as long as the rules are followed to the letter and every time I've done anything with Corporate Registries, I haven't had any problems at all.
