decided on Chrysler 2.5L turbo engine but i wanna know where a guy would get the best deal....i also im looking for the a555 transmission. i know the engine can be found in daytona's, spirit's, shadow's and maybe a few others (I think). as for the tranny I'm not sure which cars had it. just wondering if anyone could educate me a little and help point me in the right direction. thanks
:D

You'll be able to find a 2.5 common block on any 89+ turbo car at a wrecker. I suggest pulling only the short block, and buying an entire Turbo 2 car. These would be manual 87+ Shelby daytonas, shelby lancers and I think lebaron GTCs (not sure what years) all of these will be A555 cars with T2 externals that give much more potential to the powerplant.
Are you in Calgary?

i live in red deer but i come to calgary frequently, thanks a lot for the info T5_X that helps a lot....u got any idea how much all of that would cost?. i know saskatchewan has a pretty large government salvage. last i checked i could get a 90-91 daytona that had been smashed really good from behind...engine was in great shape still low kms....for the whole car they wanted 600 bucks.

For a running T2 car you're looking at probably 1500-4000 bucks. I don't know how much a used common block is, but I don't think it should be much more than a couple hunderd bucks if that. Once you have the car running well with the 2.5 in it, 300+ HP can be easily reached with well under 1000 bucks invested into aftermarket. You're gonna be spending much more getting the car to grip and turn then making it go fast.

160 plus core from calgary pick your part

as for 555, don't bother, just go 523, when you blow it up, it will be MUCH easier to find replacements for 60 bucks instead of 200.

I think its more of "IF you blow up an A555" not "when"

Really? How much torque were you guys running? A555s are pretty beefy trannies.

an endplated 555 is good from what i hear, but a 523 will arguably handle more shit than a non end plated 555, and costs less, plus it makes the 568 swap easier.
