Ok, figure one of you must have shopped around at some point...

Looking for the good old cheap ~4x8 ~1000lb gvw utility trailer... That we used to be able to pickup for a few hundred. (found the receipt for my old one - was 179.99 reg price - at CTC (circa 02 but still!))

Lowe's is 700$ Despots is 1249 CTC 749, nothing at PA.

Harbor freight still sells them in the 2-300$ range; before discounts/coupons.

Is there a cheap local source? Or should I start pondering bribing spikers / getting a passport renewed and heading down to harbor freight in billings?

AndyL.. when I was shopping them around in 2005, they were all in the $500ish range. Mine is a 2000lb GVW and it's just sitting there gathering dust at the moment. No plans on using it this summer as I just got scheduled for my next hip replacement on June 12th. If you need to use it.. feel free. I have stuff for tying bikes down if you need that too.

^^speaking of which, I just realized I have a couple of your tie downs still.

And andy, we can probably work something out in the next run if you like.

Well from google-fu it'll be a pita for you so... if ya bring it back from harbor freight in box its a vehicle and has to go through RIV. But if its out of box - its trailer parts, thus RIV exempt... :dunno:

meh, I do drive a truck, and I can tow a trailer, I don't imagine that it is hard to assemble one.

No but assembled means it goes through the full RIV process, unboxed its just parts... so in box 72hrs notice with bill of sale inspections blah blah blah, out of box its just an assortment of parts... lol

have to stop in at one of these little trailer dealers that litter the highway, ? Maybe one will have comparable cheap trailer?
