I'll be moving into my house in July so would like to get an alarm installed from a good company. Looking for recommendations on who to use from your previous experiences.

And I'm in Edmonton but I'm sure the companies are global so any input would be appreciated as well as what your monthly monitoring fees are. If they did free installs and what kind of coverage your house has.

I've had a few alarm systems and companies... I currently have a Vivint system.

They are a bit more expensive than most but I love the fact they come in a install keypad door locks and thermostats (among other items) that I can see and manage on my iPhone or laptop.

I am able to remotely adjust temperatures, unlock doors from anywhere. Works well for my family.

And because you'll be more awesome than some fool who gets his house to call someone in India, you will need to reward yourself.

I've had ADT for about 2 years and would not recommend them.

Service is terrible. For the amount charged seems they should be able to afford a call centre in Canada.

I'm leaning towards Alarmforce I think

2nd for Vivint.

nothing but good service from them.

our alarm is also hooked up directly to CPS and CFD. if the fire alarm goes off, it notifies CFD right away.

there is also a panic code that i can enter that bypasses all normal channels and directs the cops to my house asap.
