Saw an Impreza WRX for sale, but the picture posted by the seller shows an Impreza that does not have any hood scoop, I thought WRXs are suppose to have those? Just wondering, please let me know. Thanks!

*note: just WRX, not the STI

Yes it does unless they converted it to a front mounted intercooler and changed the hood.

Yes they do. But alot of people in the subaru community swap hoods to go scoopless, or swap the trunks for wingless. If you're worried it's not actually a wrx, just check under the hood and see if it has a turbo.

Probably this one here http://calgary.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-cars-trucks-2006-Subaru-Impreza-WRX-W0QQAdIdZ488037692

I dunno, that looks like an rs to me. No sign of a front mount and I do believe that's the base model interior. My guess is moron :nut:

If that's the car in question, that's a 2.5 rs. The wrx came with larger wheels and it had red brake calipers. Unless he got it swapped out, which I doubt. Like I said, just get an engine picture, and that'll solve everything. OP, the intercooler is completely obvious and you can't miss it as soon as you pop the hood. Intercooler=wrx, no intercooler=2.5 rs.

Yup. Wrong rims, no fogs (might have been an option), and who drives an auto WRX?
If this is a WRX, grab it now because that is a steal of a deal. Although covering the top mount with the hood would probably be an engine killer. :P

Oh, also, the cluster. Wrx has the tach in the middle.

Had they sold Auto STIs in Canada like they do in Japan I would have got one over a manual version.

It's only a 5 speed automatic which would likely make highway travel hard to deal with. Subaru is so far behind all other automakers in automatic transmissions (weren't they the last company to still offer 4 speed autos?). Wonder how many years until they actually put a dual clutch automatic in one of their cars?

Toyota still offers the 4 speed auto in the Corolla and will continue to offer it in the next gen Corolla as an option along side CVT. Dual clutch in a Subaru likely never. They are going all CVT even for the turbo forester.
