View Full Version : Can anyone here do the splits?

Does anyone have a good program to train to get the splits? I've heard you need to stretch every day within 15 minutes of waking up, and that stretching for about an hour a day every day will get you there in about 6 months.

I want to be able to do this:

Well for my purposes, it means the girls get extra toonies at the peelers if / when they do the splits...

That just looks painful...

You've got the right idea. Just gotta work on flexibility and mobility.

Get a stretching machine and use it while you watch tv

It's insanely hard to get that sort of flexibility. I am able to do the splits now after a very long time with lots of stretching. I play as a hockey goalie and think it looks sick when I do split saves haha.

I stretch my legs everytime after my cardio sessions...Make sure your muscles, joints etc are all warmed up first is the key

I lift 5 days a week. Should I do it immediately post workout?

I always end my workouts with cardio. Find stretching after my cardio to be a good way to wind down and relax. There's some real good videos on youtube on how to accomplish the splits. Doing just the splits wont work. You need to do all different kinds of stretches to get there.

Watch kick boxer everyday

Get drunk, do American dancing and get some old man to stretch your adductors with a pulley machine daily.

Profit!!
