I rarely ever post on Beyond but i just wanted to give a shout out to Evan and Toma. I got my S14 two years ago and have been modifying it slowly. I've gotten screwed over at many shops and started to feel like there wasn't anyone i could trust.

I started with a sr20det when i first bought the car and wanted 500whp out of it. I bought a Mazworx 2.4L stroker kit to start the build and wanted to build a NEO VVL SR24VET. I was having issues with my sr20det and knew that it would cost over 15k for the build and Evan (sr20s14zenki) suggested i just go 2jzgte to reach my goal.
After getting my swap done at a shop for a huge amount of money, i didn't have the extra disposable income to put a giant single on it right away.

Fast forward to 2013, i decided to actually try to hit 500whp. I got some quotes at a couple shops after i ordered my parts. The quotes i got were not bad, but i decided to ask Evan on Beyond if he was up to do it since he would put more care into my vehicle versus a shop. He did an amazing job on my vehicle and showed me pictures every step of the way. Of course with my luck, i ordered a complete turbo "kit", but none of the lines fit for the new Borg Warner EFR8374 and we had to build custom lines. Evan also created custom mounts for my giant intercooler because that didn't want to fit as well. Next was the fueling and wiring which he did an awesome job on. Evan really takes pride in his work and never left me stranded. He even fixed all the problems from the previous shops as well when i didn't ask him to.

Here's the part list of the items he installed.
Borg Warner EFR8374
Suprastore custom EFR manifold for internal gate
Tomei Camshafts 264
Tomei Camgears
Tomei FPR
Injector Dynamics 1000cc
Garage Whizbit Fuel Rail
ETS 4 Inch Intercooler
Wiring
Custom intercooler piping
Custom Downpipe
Walbro 400lph fuel pump
Other miscellaneous items

Big thanks to Toma too as he tuned the car. It was hard because my injectors idled funny and my car is wasted spark/semi sequential injection but he made it work great.

The Borg Warner EFR8374 is a BEAST of a turbo, this thing spools so fast the car is downright scary now. It's much quicker then my previous BMW 335XI with a vishnu chip. I chose the internal wastegate because it flows better then a single external wastegate. The internal wastegate is also twinscroll with a recirculating BOV for faster spool/boost recovery. Here's a little read about the new turbos if anyone is interested. http://www.motoiq.com/magazine_articles/id/1750/borgwarner-efr-turbo-feature-set.aspx

Onto pictures now:

Ohhhh, you're the guy with the EFR.

I think his car made an extra .5 horsepower. :D

Holy shit you actually got your hands on an EFR. I am impressed lol.

500's a fairly conservative number for a turbo of that size no? Pretty sweet car either way, loves me some s14's.

Using worm drive clamps on a push loc fitting is a bad idea and is asking for problems.....push loc fittings arn't designed for that type of clamp and it actually weakens it.

You don't need to clamp push loc hose, but if you want to for extra peace of mind the only type of clamps to use with it are seamless pinch clamps: https://www.google.ca/search?um=1&safe=off&hl=en&q=seamless+pinch+clamp

Love this.

I will vouch for Evan, He has done work for a friend of mine in the past and as of a couple days ago he has done something for one of my cars as well.

Great workmanship and also a great guy to just have a few words with.

Have attended a dyno day or two at Toma's and have also thrown my bone stock civic up on his dyno before my built turbo motor went in.

Stand up guys for sure. Wouldn't hesitate for a second to put a good word in for either of them.

i see your car around saddle ridge (NE) quite often, not sure if its the same but the pink roll cage grabs attention!

We actually overlayed my dyno sheet on top of his, and its quite amazing how close they are to eachother as far as power delivery. His curve starts about 700 rpm quicker than mine, but at the top end, we are almost identical, right down to our 6600 rpm power falloff.

Thanks for the info, this is my first time actually using these fittings, as i usually use earls fittings and steel braid. Rest assured, i didnt really put any pressure on the worm clamp actually, its just there as a just in case, and really doesnt even need to be there.

Glad everything turned out the way it did, especially with the way those injectors were acting. Drove the car as well, and MY GOD its a totally different beast than mine. Way more response on the street, and much better manners (im vented to atmosphere on my gate). Overall a very smooth delivery from the setup.

Im glad to help out where i can.

Its a pretty average number for this turbo on pump gas. It could do a lot more with elevated pressures, but that would require VP.

It flows 79lb/min MAX. That means its good for roughly 800 CRANK horsepower. Factor in our elevation, etc.... its actually a pretty spot on number. That all being said, what a little monster that thing is.
