OK so tomorrow I am off to Vegas for the first time ever (I think I'm the only person who has never been and I'm almost 28 lol). Just a few quick questions:

1) Do many places have dress codes? We are going to one nicer restaurant, and I think that's it. No "clubs" like XS, etc. but we are going to the Rhino for sure haha. It's going to be 40 degrees there and I really don't want to be in dress clothes/dress shoes.

2) How long/expensive is the cab ride to Exotics Racing? Looks like they have some openings for the 458 Italia on Monday and I'd love to do 10 laps if I'm not too hung over!

3) How much cash should I bring for 4 full days? I don't gamble much and the surcharges at the strippers is insane (10% on all credit card purchases, and $40/10% ATM fee, whichever is higher). I was thinking $500? For all "normal" purchases (food, outlet malls, etc.) I will be using my credit card of course.

4) Are the outlets pretty good? Worth the trip or pass?

Thanks guys!

Outlet mall is great for deals. Like 100$ for sevens jeans when they're 200$ here.

Cabs are relitivaly cheap. I think it was 60$ for us to get to the Las Vegas speedway which is over an hour out.

Rhino and sapphire have moderate dress codes but they won't expect suit and tie kinda deal. Just no sandals and looking like a bum. (Although it wasn't above +30 when I went)

Money is a touchy subject, prices for food and clothes unless at the outlets is right around the same for Calgary. To save money play penny slots at casino for an hour or two before you go out. Order doubles in tall glasses if needed and they're free the whole time.
When I went with 3 guys we blew 4k each in 5 days but we partied the entire time and had bottle service 3 nights which is 500$ minimum.

I personally wouldn't take less than 1k cash and keep the credit card ready for purchases at the malls.

Don't take a cab to Exotics Racing, call them and get their limo. It's about the same price as a cab.

Whenever I go I normally bring around 1.5k and it's all gone somehow. I spent closer to 2 last time because of one beach party at the encore..SO MUCH MONEY!

I agree with the outlet mall. There is only one I go to and I buy a couple pairs of jeans each time I go.

Cabs can be cheap but also expensive too. Know your route and the best way to go because I've had some cabs intentionally drive slow or out of the way so that my bill was higher. :banghead:

Dress code for the nice restaurant..other than that you can probably get by 85% of the time with casual clothing/flip flops, shorts, and t-shirts.

Wooo I leave in two weeks

You'll go through $500 in a day or two easily if your drinking, going into bars, eating, gambling a little and a shopping..

There are a lot of attractions that you will want to try or check out and they will suck your money. You'll be suprised how fast money goes in vegas, regardless if your gambling or not.

Unless you are a monk, you'll probably blow minimum 200 at Rhino with drinks and all the other stuff. With the remaining 300 bucks, you can probably survive but why stress yourself. I'll bring a grand at the very minimum. It's quite boring if you don't spend money in Vegas.

drinks = super expensive

I could have gone and spent 100 on drinks and have been sober but I decided to spend $500+ in two hours and I was :nut:

I was there for 4 days and spent ~$1500, gambled MAYBE $50, just to say I gambled in Vegas.

Yeah I would say a grand cash minimum too. The entire purpose of the city is to extract money from tourists.

Thanks Guys. I took out $500 USD today but sounds like I may need a little more.

Is there just like a $5 fee to take out money down there with a debit card at a regular ATM? Or is it way worse? If so I'll probably just get money as I need it if I go beyond my $500.

I figure I can use my credit card everywhere except the strippers, which I why I was hoping to get away with $500 cash. I also have zero interest in gambling more than $50-100...that's like 5 lap dances haha.

We will be a group of 13, so I imagine at the Rhino we will have a table with bottle service rather than buying their $18 single drinks haha.

I also did not know Exotics racing had a limo, thanks for the tip. Hoping to do 10 laps in the 458 if I am not too hung over to enjoy it.

Any suggestions on how early we will have to get to the Rhino for a group of 13 to get a table? I heard they have a limo service as well with no cover for large groups.
