Those are some pretty good times for Type R's!
Tonight was the First time I took The MR2 to the Track, Although it was still fun It was rather Depressing!:( I got in 8 runs, And they were ALL against 14-15 Second cars! And I was Running 17.8-18.5. I got RAPED EVERY RACE! My First run was my Best, Kinda Pissed me off! I was excited at first cause i thought i would be able to improve no problem, but my Launches just kept getting worse!:madred: I Got Rubber EVERY time Shifting into 2nd,Which i can Rarely do on the street. Had a couple rough Runs, Grinded a bit going into 3rd once, and practicaly Fell asleep at the line once too! that horrible start led to the 18.5, The Track just felt Really Slick. And i wasnt use to it, My next car wont be as slow i hope! Good fun though!
Thats awesome, those cars are really doing well thats for sure!
(I think your sig id a bit large nick, hehe:rolleyes: )

Last night was indeed an amazing night for the track.
After two 14.8's, I ran three consecutive 14.6's and for the most part had 2.2 60' times. Needless to say I was super happy.
Al and I ran against each other and no joke we were side by side the entire time. Awesome shoot-out!
It was definately the NGK's!!!!!!
I honestly think we could have done 14.5 since both Al and I had low mph and I had a 2.3 60' time on my best run......next year!
Later homeboys.
Nate dogg.....aka Voodoo Child

how much time would you expect to lose dropping your 60' from high 2.3's to low 2.2's ?
with a trap around 95 ?

It would that would have been a 14.5 for sure because when i ran my 14.8 last week it was at 94mph. And last night i ran a 14.6 at 92mph.

Really impressive.
What Octane Gas were you guys runing? and tires?

Nate was running 92 Octane(pump gas) with yokohama A520 tires

haha, no doubt. i read in import tuner a WHILE back cars can do up to half a second faster 1/4 miles in japan just because of elevation

ninjak84-The times here in Calgary are slower then they would be if they were at Sea Level.
At Sea Level these Type R's are even quicker...
Shadowz-What does Allan have done and N8?
Just Intake and Apexi Exhaust?

How could you be so blasphemous Nick?
There are no Ractive wires in my car....Nate Dogg ordered over night from A&J some pimp daddy NGK power cables.....mmmm!!!
You better watch it buddy, I still have the old Ractive wires in the garrage and I could just slip them in your car when you are not looking!!!
And if you did sea level correction factors...Al and I would be actually under 14sec!:)
Nate Dogg out...

Hey Alan you should try a fuel called Ultimate-4 in your car you'll get bigger power gains than using C-12. It's designed for cars like yours, unlike C-12.
Voodoo Child
09-23-2002, 01:20 PM
Hey 90_Shelby,
What is this fuel that you speak of? Are you saying it's designed for high compression engines?
I'd like to know more!
VC out.

If you're not getting detonation on pump gas, there's no need to run higher octane fuels (ie VP MS103, C-12, etc). The higher octane fuel actually burns slower than pump fuel, therefore decreasing your hp potential.
Voodoo Child
09-23-2002, 01:26 PM
Well I had 92 octane and Alan has C-12 or whatever you call it.
We both ran basicaly the same time so I guess that puts it into perspective for ya.

Actually compared to C-12, Ultimate 4's octane is much less it's only about 4 points higher than premium pump gas, but it's not the octane that makes more power, it's the BTU's. For detailed info on it phone VP 275-1958. They will tell you all about it.
To give an example of HP increases with fuel when octane is not a factor...... A stock car that runs in WRL at racecity made 430 rwhp naturally aspirated on C-12, when we put in a fuel called CMP which is an oxygenated form of C-12 with an octane level which is actually lower than C-12 it picked up 18rwhp:eek: which is crazy for a fuel. No I'm not trying to say that a lower octane fuel will make more power as it is the actual make-up of the fuel that makes more power.
C-12 is designed for high compression engines which are unable to run on pump gas, 12.5-1 cast iron heads and block ex. (Type-R engines aren't considered a high compression engine.)
Once again I'm no expert phone VP for more info. P.S. The shit ain't cheap:D

I think i will have to try it because the dude at VP even told me that it would work better than the C-12. He said that the Ultimate 4 will make more power on my car than the C-12. He said the C-12 will work better on turbocharged vehicles but i wanted to see for my self so we'll try again this week end with Ultimate 4.
Hey Nate wanna split. It's like $85 for 20 or 25 litres. Something like that. It's more expensive than the C-12.
