apparently only users who upgraded their HDD are affected by this update but damn that's a big fuckup by Sony.
Don't they test their patches first before deployment

They could have at least waited for the PS4 to come out, so everyone upgraded

They aren't bricked, bricked suggests it won't work anymore. All you have to do is reinstall the update. Can do that with a reset to safe mode.
