Not sure if this is the right section, but it pertains to off-roading and 4x4ing. Im looking for advice on a Freezer - Fridge.

I need something about 60L, no larger and can be moved in and out of my truck. I travel/camp/off-road ALOT and its time to buy one of these babies.

I think the ARB and Engel units are overpriced. $800? Not a chance. Anyone recommend another unit? Or know of any other units?

If you need something around the 60L I'm afraid there isn't much out there apart from the ARB and Engel you mentioned. You can get a Mobicool 37L from Canadian Tire for $299 but I've been waiting for them to go on sale for a few months now with no luck. A friend has this exact model and it's been great for the past year and a half.

There's also a larger one on sale right now but it doesn't feel well made.

If you're looking at getting one for the long term I would highly suggest the ARB unit. I know it's a lot more money but I feel that the quality is definitely far above all the other ones I've seen. Plus the support from ARB is great.

I found these, from a company called Edgestar. The MSRP on their website isn't accurate. It seems the going rate is about $500 on amazon.com

National Luna is another make I found, but VERY expensive.

Whynter is another one I found, which looks like an edgestar and priced accordingly.

Any reason for the need of a 60L?

I have the ARB 45L and its more than enough space for a multi day trip for 3 peoples worth of food.

45L would probably work, but I work all over the province, and the goal was to have it in the truck and take it with me. Instead of trying to meal plan for the day, I can meal plan for the week or longer.

Did you end up getting one?

Not yet. Work has slowed down a bit.
