Paint Chip Repair

I'm repairing the paint chips in my car, I've done the initial steps, primed it, wet sanded it and painted it, but the instructions says that I should clear coat it after 24 hours and then wet sand again.

The paint isn't smooth though, should I wet sand it then clear coat, then wet sand again? Or do I wait until after I clear coat?

if its an orange peel, you should be able to cut n polish

I would say don't sand the base coat, lay down the clear coat and sand that top layer, apply a second clear if you go through the clear.

before sanding it, i would take a paint gauge and see how much you have to play with.
