Hell no. They put a corregated board in my window with their logo covering half of it, and a jiffy marker of my number scrawled on the other half. The sun faded it to nothingness in 2 months.

Home builders aren't in it to do you favours... they are in it to make money. Be thankful they aren't drilling plastic dollar store numbers into your trim.

Depends on the builder. I ended up building with Sterling and it was included with the house. Couple of the builders didn't include them. I believe excel and trico did not include them. At least in sage hill this was the case

The last three times we built we had to buy & instal our own. Home Depot has actually got a pretty nice range of options. Everything from the basic black block style numbers to some nice custom order ideas.

I have a 3000lb white dolomite boulder with my address sand blasted into it.

I used this company.

I wonder, are there any rules that say you need house numbers? My 35 year old house didn't come with any numbers. I've lived there a year and it's still on the to-do list. It's not really causing me any issues as the Swiss Chalet guy seems to be able to find the place just fine.

Ask around at Home Depot. We were able to custom order a piece of slate with our number etched/blasted into it. Pretty nice...

Probably because if everyone thought that way, you'd never be able to find a house. The Swiss Chalet guy probably looks at your neighbour's house number and adds 4 to it.

The rock was free, the crane was $200 and the engraving was $400

Wow, that is surprisingly reasonable.

So where did you get the rock from? Did they bring it to your place first and then engrave it after?

The rock was a gift from my Uncle who runs a mining company in BC. Haha.

The engraving was done once it was placed in my yard.

Big rocks aren't that expensive.

Yup, must have readable house number, and if you have an Alley style garage, must have numbers there as well.

It's one of those "rat you out" things. If no one bitches to 311, you are fine.

There are a couple companies in Calgary that do custom house numbers for those who do not want to do rocks.

Those big ass numbers looks ghetto, IMO.

May be fine for commercial tho.

I see them on all the contemporary multi-million dollar homes around Calgary.

Suits a contemporary home.

You are already losing the battle with the #3, now if it was 10 or 69, or 100

Grab those if you like the style. Then sandblast them, fill the holes and powdercoat them.

What do you mean by alley style garage? Do you mean rear detached garage?
