So I picked up my new beast a couple weeks ago

Booked up for a baseline hopefully the 28th of July with Toma to see what sort of power I'm putting out.

Running a D1 intercooled procharger system, BAP, JBA Longtube headers, offroad H pipe, magnaflow magna pack axelbacks, few other bits and ends but that's about the basics that are worth mentioning.

Right now for this year I'm planning on just making sure the tune is safe on it and just enjoying it.

Major exterior changes that ill do soon is new headlights (Don't mind these but want a classier muscle car look) GT500 rear spoiler.

Long term goals for the car:
More suspension goodies (LCA's, sway bars, strut bar,
GT500 duel pumps
Upgraded brakes
Aluminum drive shaft
New wheels

Long long term goals (if I even keep it that long you guys should know me by now)
God forbid engine blows on me a 302 or 326 stroker will be the new bottom end

Getting aligned at Zero Limit Automotive. Highly recommend the shop. Have nothing but good things to say about Jackie and his business

Until next time... Will keep this up to date to keep me motivated on improving her.

I agree on the more tire.

Would like to run a 295 or 305 tire out back eventually.

My o2 sensors are acting up so going to replace them Saturday. Haven't really beat on the car at all since I got it. Like I said wanna run a baseline to make sure she's all good first

^^What codes are your o2's sending? I ask because I notice that you have the JBA longtubes. When I did headers on my car, pretty much right away I got a P0133 slow response code. I replaced the sensor with an expensive corvette one and the code stayed..it's the nature of headers moving the o2 sensor further downstream. It doesn't get as hot as the computer says it should so "ding" check engine :thumbsdow

295's or 305's would look perfect I'd bet!

Good call, especially with the supercharger. Curious to see what it put down..I'm going to say low 400's on toma's :dunno:

Shlade
07-17-2013, 06:04 PM
I think low 400's sounds about right. Horsepower is just a dick measuring competition anyways the car is right where I want it to be. Never been one to want to be the fastest or to race around. It's a fun street car that will see the track sometimes also.

And I can't remember exactly what the code was we ran it on Jackies computer and both bank 1 and bank 2 were responding really slow. Cleared the code and the CEL stayed off so I'm not 100% sure. Worth replacing the old worn ones anyways.

Totally agree!! It's a losing game and a pointless one $$$ in my opinion.

Yeah that sounds exactly like what mine was doing after we installed
the longtubes! It will stay off for a little while, as the pcm has to see
certain criteria for it to pop up again. A couple more drives and I bet
it comes back. Up to you, personally I wouldn't especially for a car
that's an 07. Unless they are super cheap. I was so pissed after
I spent ~120 on one sensor only to have the code come back.

If it is the slow response code, it really doesn't seem to be very
harmful. Mine still comes on from time to time..doesn't effect mpgs
or performance. It's just a catalytic convertor maximum
efficiency temp code from what I understand.

So first purchase for the stangy is a set of new headlights and new foglight bulbs (the lights on it right now just aren't my taste)

Should look really good once their on. Body colour matched will give it a nice retro style look

Hey Shlade by any chance, do you have those rims up on Kijiji??

So we ran into a little bit of an issue when we put it on the dyno.

I *THINK* that the car is running the stock procharger tune. From the people I've spoken to it sounds like their tunes are notorious for running a little leaner. Now with full exhaust and other mods the car is running too lean at WOT. Pulling 14.4 to be exact. Good thing I checked it.

Anyways we ran 2 very short pulls and it made 360hp at 4700rpm.

Car has a lot more in it just need to sort out the tune. Have a dyno session booked again in August. We will be throwing more more fuel at it and hoping that fixes the issue and hoping for some good numbers then!

Anyways also changed the headlights to these guys. Look much much better

wont be an issue for the fueling, whats done with the kit, a bap and injectors or a new fuel pump as well? thats pretty damn lean, like 3 points lean :(

headlights look way better!

Shlade
07-30-2013, 04:14 PM
Well see what happens when Toma does his magic and throws some more fuel at if

It's just running 39lb injectors and a BAP On the stock fuel pump

LAFNGAS
07-30-2013, 05:06 PM
if needed are you going to just replace the in tank fuel pump?

pretty sure once its done you'll be doing 400+whp

Shlade
07-30-2013, 05:10 PM
Shouldn't need to replace the fuel pump or have to worry about it unless Im over 500 which I don't plan on being anyways.

Unless later down the road I plan on building the bottom end, throwing more boost at it ill only them get a set of GT500 duel pumps

Oh yeah, tuned a '06 Procharger deal Yesterday actually. Lean as fuck, MAF curve looked like a kid drew it, and fuel ran out at 390 or 400 rwhp. But just a stock pump, and looks like no BAP.

Made 430 through smelly cats !

Those headlights are a huge improvement..and 360 rwhp is still pretty nutty on that dyno..enough power for the street imo.

Got a bachelor party that weekend. Ill probably come sometime in September though. The car needs some suspension work and different tires if it'll even hook worth a shit

Great looking car and a good pick up. Which snail does that kit run? The LCA's and tires will make a huge difference when launching the car. Also, what gears are you running? If they are stock (3.31 probably) then a switch to 3.73 or 4.10's with those big wheels will help too.
There is a big mustang group in Calgary and they usually meet on the Wednesday show and shine's at the Grey Eagle.

Shlade
08-08-2013, 03:31 PM
It's running the stock 3.55 gears I think (pretty sure the 3.31's were for the automatic only)

LCA's are in the future as well as a bigger tire. It's got the P1SC head unit on there right now.

3.73's wouldn't be too bad of an upgrade but I honestly think that 4.10's would be overkill with it. Buddy of mine had a set in his NA bolt on 05 GT and first to second gear was useless

But with sticky tires it's awesome!

Shlade

Haha I could run a nt555r on the street and it still wouldn't be sticky lol

Calgary just doesn't have warm enough weather to make a tire stick on the street

No and yes at the same time.

Got a job lining up I need a SUV or truck for so I figured I'd toss it up to see what sort of interesting trade offers I get.

Realistically I'm looking at picking up a second vehicle shortly and parking this car in a few months for a little while.

Toma
08-11-2013, 10:24 PM
Yeah. 4.10s suck. Good for low power cars. As power goes up... gear ratios need to go down. 3.55s are usualky a good balance. I had 3.27 and 27 tall tire when my old 5.0 ran 9.s

I had an old Capri made about 290 to the wheels. Ran fastest launching in second lol....cause it had 4.10s.

Shlade
08-12-2013, 12:55 AM
Yeah the gears that are in it right now are fine.

Can't wait to get this thing tuned right. I've passed so many opportunities to put some cars in their place due to self control and not wanting to blow my shit up lol

Good enough. Will probably be back for some more adjusting at some point but overall I'm happy with it. Car feels much better as well.

Onto suspension..

That's great, especially considering where you were at on the first pulls. And at least you know the combo is fairly dialed for where it's at now.

Yeah, my MTs don't hook that well on the street when compared to how they stick at the track...and I'm only running 3.23s!

I'm not running a Mustang right now, my current main project car is a 2010 CTS-V.

Shlade
08-14-2013, 03:42 PM
Very nice.

Friend on my had a 04 CTSV and that thing was loads of fun. Corvette power in a luxury car... Can't beat that

never
08-14-2013, 03:53 PM
Yeah, I have a 2004 CTS V too but that thing is a slug in comparison to the 2010. But to be honest, it's not a fair fight...the 2004 only has a couple of very minor power mods and the 2010 has several key power mods plus sticky tires and an auto (there is over a 200 whp difference between the two).

I'm driving the 04 today because the 10 is apart in prep for the strip on Friday. If it wasn't for the manual in the 04, I really wouldn't want to drive it!

Can't believe how much better the car is running/driving

Finally able to get some fun out of it

Alright so car is officially parked for winter...

Spoke with Gary from Urban when I was getting some tires put on the Volvo and he helped me decide on an absolutely wicked set of wheels for the car that are a little different than what everybody seems to go with these cars. Looking forward to ordering those in the near future.

(Big thumbs up to them as well they hooked me up with a set of front tires for the stang fast and got me a set of winter tires for the Volvo stat... Great to deal with)

Almost instant mods for this winter are as follows:
Strut bar
Panhard bar
Wheels (obviously)
I may actually order up a new AFR gauge after I check the connection on mine after winter since mines reading faulty... The sensor may just be gunked up..

Keeping the list short. May get some parts later on but I'm taking it slow with this car i got nothing but time. Since I didn't get a chance to hit the track this year one of my big goals is to take the car out for a few runs. Thinking about getting a set of 15x10 race stars for the back for the days I decide to hit the track

Last but not least after I change every fluid in the car next spring I'll be taking it back to Toma to finish tuning the car.

I highly recommend Toma to you guys if you need a tune or baseline pull. He's very knowledgable and a super friendly guy to boot.
