Well I've had a few PM's about people wanting to see pictures of my latest phone so I figured I'd just post them here.

So far this is the best phone I have ever owned. The sound quality has been excellent and the reception has been very good as well. If the phone had an external antenna I think it would have perfect reception at all times. It just wouldn't look as good though.

If Motorola was to add Bluetooth, MP3 ringtones, and the 850 band to this phone it would be perfect. So pretty much a cross between the V600 and V690 would be the perfect phone (as long as it kept the looks of the V690).

If anyone else has some pictures of their phone(s) feel free to post them in here.

Nice, but it reminds me way too much of the T720 - and that's not a good thing.

What's it worth? It seems as though all of the nice things that came with the v600 were dropped with the v690.

About $600.00 CAD. My main reason for choosing the V690 over the V600 is looks. I don't like the style of the V600. It's too round IMO. I like the square look.

So the V690 is about $250 - $300 cheaper than the V600 currently. The V600 does come with a Bluetooth headset as well though. However you are looking at spending about $850.00 for a branded phone most likely since the unbranded ones are fetching a higher price right now. The V600 does feature Moto's first real attempt at BT and of course the quad band and MP3 ringtones are a great feature as well.

The looks may remind you of the T720 but it performs much better. My first 2 T720's were actually both excellent phones. One was unbranded and the other was either a Cingular or AT&T (U.S.) and they both had good FW on them. I know most of the Rogers ones were/are shit.

If the V600 looked like the V690 I would have bought that since it has more features. But if you are looking at getting a V600 just get the V525 instead and save yourself about $300.

Hey is your new phone same size as the T720??

V690 measures 90mm x 47mm x 23mm and weighs 90 grams

T720 measures 104mm x 47mm x 25mm and weighs 106 grams.

So the V690 is is smaller and lighter.

Purchased it from OmegaCell. It's a triband. If you want quadband look at the V525 or V600

It did up until this afternoon when the exterior screen decided to die on me for no fucking reason. It is only half displaying now. But yes it displays the persons name/number and it does light up.

I'll be calling Motorola Canada tomorrow and sending this fucker in for warranty repair/replacement.

This is the first time a Motorola phone has every crapped out on me.
