Hey everyone,

I'm trying to get rid of a large area of soil that is completely covered with weeds.

I've had some luck with the "round up" pumps that you can buy at the store, but at $36 a container it's not feasible for such a large area.

Really trying to do this on a budget.

What would you recommend?

Does anybody know where you can buy legal chemicals in bulk?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

How large an area? Can you just mow it down to the earth then spray with a garden hose and killex?

The area is about 5000 sq ft

I will look into this stuff.

The question is, what are you planning to after you kill the weeds? They won't stay gone, I don't think. I fought a losing battle for years with the weeds in my gravel driveway. Up the centre, and down each side of the driveway. Years and years and years I sprayed Roundup, but I finally sold and moved 12 years ago; you should see the weeds now! lol

Pull them out by the roots with your hands. 5000sq/ft is fuck all, should only take a couple hours.

Exactly. Get some buddies, some beers and have at er'. The only real way to rid of weeds is to pull every one from the roots.

You can use a tiger torch too. It's very non-selective and cheap.

the torch method is so relaxing. Get a few buddies, have two of them of hose-duty, and the rest of you get drunk and play with the flame-thrower. Good times.
