Need help in value assessment of car

Selling one of my dad's old cars. Its a 1989 BMW 525 i. Auto, 130,000 kms. Has not been driven in 5 years. Does not start. Body in very good condition as well as the interior. I figure any value is basically in the shell as a project car.

Would 1,000-1,500 be too much to ask?

Thats about right I guess. Do you know why it wont start? Looks freaking mint though man. If possible get it running and it will sell for $3-4,000 probably.

It looks mynt but I'm sure there's a tons of dust and shit. I'd hire a mobile detailer (I know a good one that only charges 120 including shampoo) and make it look even better, then get it running (if it's relatively minor) and sell it for much more.
