Cant seem to find the correct answer when it comes to the meal allowance for overnight stays. I have heard that u can claim up to $75/night when your accomdation is away from home but cant find the back up to this. You can however claim up to $51/day, without receipts and this is indicated quite clearly. I just want some clarification before billing the client.

I seem to remember the amount cra will allow for this tax year being $81, no 100% but pretty sure. I'll ask our bookkeeper tomorrow if nobody confirms by then.

It's $51 per day without receipts. With receipts, it can be more.

What you charge your client can be whatever you want - but you'll be taxed on the amount that exceeds the $51/diem (or amount from receipts).
