I dont like those wheels on that car. Makes the car look cheap IMO. Also needs to be lowered.:)

That's the look mitsubishi was going for from the factory.

Yup, 3G's are ass compared to 2G's.

But, I've owned both, and honestly the 3G is a much better driving, handling car...

Having said that, I sold my GT to buy a 2G Eclipse :)

The 2G DSM has to be the nicest looking *AFFORDABLE* car that the Pentastar sold, until the merger...

i think takin a pic of the older stock model would have done this post more justice... you just done see 2nd Gen mitsubishi elcipses stock anymore.. and they are nice cars, to bad so many of them have been ruined by bad paint jobs and winter drivers...

as for the new ones.. gutless... v6....nasty

need i say more?

The gts V6 has more power than the 99 gsx stock. So i dont know how you can say its gutless?:dunno:

its still a 6' cyli.. how is it that a 4 can pump out just as much power as the 6, while being more efficient... all i was saying is that they could have developed the engine a bit more, cause if honda can make over 100hp per litre then a 6 should be able to do the same..

ive driven the new eclipse and i didnt notice a huge amount of pull, tell u the truth i had more fun with an integra gsr, with a few little mods.

I sold those cars last year. We couldn't give them away. They are slower than the old Eclipse's, and that cladding looks like it came off a 2002 Grand Am. Visibility is terrible from every vantage point, especially the rear. The V6 is 200 hp. Yawn! They oversteer and the automatic sucks a lot of HP. The stick shifts exceptionally well in the Mitzi's, however.

In 2005 there will be a new Eclipse. It is going to be something altogether new and awesome.

4 can put same power as 6 because of turbo. Put a turbo on the new 3.0L 6 and try to keep up in a 2.0L turbo.

the v6 in the eclipse is very similar to the older 6g72 out of the 3000gt/stealth as well as alot of other cars. it has potential if the money is there. but side by side, why screw around with the v6's when it's easy to get 500+ horsepower out of the 4g63? it's a no brainer especially with the awd.

I've heard that too... but I have also heard that the differences are in the bottom end which leaves it more prone to exploding under anything more than 7lbs of boost.

If you got the money go for the v6 imo. except the damn no AWD. Fuck. You could get that done too i guess. For $10 g american i can get an evo 6 engine and awd in my car. lol.

03-02-2004, 09:47 PM
haha evo 6, humm no wont fit in any dsm transverse mounted. only the evo 1-3 motors will fit, and only in a second gen dsm because of the lack of front engine mount. I have a evo 3 motor in my 1998 eclipse gsx.
