In Kananaskis the whole time. Devastating to see the damage to some areas. The golf course.....almost started crying!!! Camp host said 2015 at the earliest, with some rumours stating it may never re-open!!

Saw a nice 2 year old Grizzly cruise through Interlakes campground. Went for a swim in the lake, and the CO's had to chase her off and yelling at everyone to get in their cars/rv's.

Weather was awesome!!

Shitty end to it though, my son and his girlfriend came out to join us for the weekend. My youngest could not WAIT for his older brother to come out.....not two hours after arrival, and the oldest takes a bad spill on his mountain bike, coming back from the washrooms. Major road rash, severe concussion, (lost consciousness and didn't know who we were) and a broken ankle. Medics called in and an ambulance ride back to Foothills. Fuck :( The exact same foot and type of break I did last year. Apple doesn't fall far...

Great camping trip...shitty end though.

Sorry to hear about your son, wow... :nut: Fuck thats horrendous. He must have been going at a good clip, or hit something really hard to do that kind of damage. Just how far were these washrooms anyway? At most campsites, its just a short walk to get to them.

Any pics of the damage to K country? Id love to head out to highway 40, but cant due to all the closures. I'd love to see whats happening with all that since the flood.

Graham, it's not the forward velocity that get's you in concussions, it's often the vertical drop. All he'd have to do is catch a root with a pedal and go over the bars while getting tangled in the bike.... ask me how I know this ;)

Dave, hope he's feeling better soon.

The washrooms werent far away..just more of a campground tour. But there's a steep, short hill where you can easily hit 40kmh on the bike. He went around a truck onto the gravel, then back up onto the pavement when the front tire hopped and lost traction. He immediately went down like a rock. Wife was watching him. His ankle rolled, then knee, hip, arm, shoulder and face smacked the pavement really hard.

So here's pics:

These first two pics are from last year. This was a little creek we'd walk.....

This is the same creek bed today. The whole creek has moved a couple hundred feet to the north. the old creekbed has been completely filled with about 10 feet of debris.

Holy shit, hope he recovers in good time!

I golf K country on fathersday/my birthday every year, looks like we need a new tradition haha.

I'm glad I got to golf it very near its demise at least :) It was the best kept secret, super cheap green fees due to provincial park haha. Always bears out there.

Wow, really sorry to hear about your son, wishing him a quick recovery... I can relate all too well to ankle injuries and know how shitty it can be.

I heard that people are going out there to look for fossils.

That is an awfully kind offer Graham..thank you. Means a lot. He's doing okay. My younger boy is staying with him all this week. Making meals, coffee, beer bitch...so he's doing pretty well. His g/f has school at night, so she's home during the day as well.

How's your tile setting? Wanna help me lay some 48" tile? haha!!

Oh...that pic of my dog blowing bubbles in the water? This is what she's doing:

^ No experience, but Im an extremely quick learner, and as a Millwright (and farmer), I can pick it up quick. No charge to you at all, I think you've been through enough lately. Let me know if you need a hand with that or anything else. If not tile setting, if you need help bringing materials to the site or whatever else (EG Tile cutting, as I can read a tape and thus cut down to a 1/32" or less etc), let me know. I brought our '11 3/4 ton Silverado HD, so I can help with that end as well.
Just shoot me a PM, Im heading back to Sask this Friday with the new trailer we just bought (which Im here to pick up).
