Ouch, this has been a very bad year for UK poor. No doubt the price rise of potash from $140 per ton to $870 played a role, as well as the price spike in corn over the last few years as the US ramped up its ethanol production (to nearly 0.5% of gasoline consumption)

Yes, lets burn food to fuel cars... Brilliant idea.

I was born and spent 35 years in the West Midlands ,still visit regularly and still have lots of friends and family there.
This isn't as clear cut as the press would like you to believe.
Lots of 'newcomers' draining the system and using the food bank as a way of saving money,not out of desperation.
