Meh, he was never a Canadian.

Yeah, he was born in Canada, but I am of the opinion that just because you are born in a country, you should not automatically become a citizen of said country.

As he said, he has only held an american passport and since age 4, lived in the states.

I can't believe this is news.

McCain was born on a US military base though, not just a city in a foreign country.

This guy was born in Calgary. I just think the public or someone will shit a collective brick. He isn't a war hero, he's held other citizenship... Is this really the best they can do?

Again, you're confusing what natural-born U.S. citizen means. It has nothing to do with where you are born. McCain was born on a US military base that was not considered US territory at the time. The natural born definition means born as a U.S. citizen, regardless of where.

No I know what it means. I'm just saying the general electorate in the USA isn't informed enough to know that. They'll hear "born in Canada" and be very confused.
