He was after the fact because the Hummer dude became a dink, but pulling out in front of the Hummer in the beginning when he shifted lanes was non-issue as far as I am concerned, yet the hummer dude got all pissed because of it

You had me at Hummer (nothing like a typecast fulfilled)....

Odd that the Hummer driver was not charged with covering his plate, considering all the other charges. Over/Under on the height of the Hummer driver? I say under 5' 7" and a member of the local body hair waxing club for little men.

Not sure how you can equate the two cars behaviors. The hummer clearly showed more aggression and was willing to hit a car to send a message. Poetry at the end when the cop shows up.

Sooo what would have happened if he didn't have a dashcam?

Would he have been shit out of luck?

Dashcam made it an easy win!

Looked like that guy took care of his hummer. Clean and all. I could never imagine being so mad I would damage my nice car to teach some guy a lesson.

Clearly hummer dude was blinded by his temper.

Couldn't have been California, too much snow.

That and a good 1/5th of the people don't bother or can't afford insurance anymore.

BTW: I didn't see no roadrage. Wheres the guns and baseball bats?

I can understand not recognizing the distinctive orange and yellow Diamond Taxi fleet if you've never been there, and I can probably forgive the not knowing street names, but I thought everyone could pick out a Toronto Transit Commission streetcar.

Yup the Hummer was way more aggressive but notice that towards the beginning, the video guy gunned it to block the Hummer from getting back in. That's road raging.

I'd call that more defensive driving. If you have someone screaming at you, you generally don't want them in front, or they might brake check, and it'll be your fault on insurance.

Edit: (But yes, I realize he could have hung way back and let someone else ahead of him)

Well exactly.. If someone was pissed off at me the LAST thing I want is for them to be BEHIND me. And he did that move not because of defensive driving, but because he's an ass himself.

Still.. What the Hummer did is indefensible. I am saying that the guy in the vid perpetuated the situation.

But if you watch the video, the Hummer just started going as the light turned green. Just up ahead, the traffic is stopped. So it doesn't appear the driver with the cam cut him off unless the Hummer floored it.

Either way, IMO based on what's seen, it looks like the Hummer wanted to prevent that guy front lane changing in front of him because he knew the car cam guy didn't want to be behind a taxi turning left.

I'd rather have a pissed off hummer driver behind me. It's not like the guy can't reverse and totally run over your vehicle especially when most cars are lower in the front than back (b/c of the trunk).

The guy with the camera is doing exactly what the guy in the racist dog owner video is doing.

All this just cuz the Hummer guy commented on his bad driving...the car cam must be a whiny little bitch...why not just ignore him and move on with your life?

I don't get the hate for the guy with the dashcam. :dunno:

I haven't watched the video in a couple of days, but from what I remember, he was just commenting on the Hummer guy's bad driving. Then when he hit him and drove off, that's when he chased after him. Following the guy was the only way to get the police to actually respond.

Everybody on this forum knows that when you call 911 to report something like this, the call taker will take the description, but it's useless to the responding units because the guy is just going to get away. And unless you just witnessed him robbing a bank, they're not going to respond right away if you stop following.

I don't know how police officers feel about it, but personally, I hate it when the call takers immediately yell at you to stop following the vehicle. Obviously, if you don't listen to them, the call will get prioritized, and in an ideal world, you shouldn't follow them if they ask you to stop, but if the guy gets away, then it's all pointless.
