I bought an expensive item in the US. It's faster for me to travel up through BC border back to Calgary, but in addition to GST will I have to pay the BC provincial tax?

I believe you will, but you can file it on your taxes to get it back

No, so long as you have proof you are an Alberta resident.

You would only pay the applicable liquor or tobacco taxes/fees if your over your allowed limit.

Otherwise, if you bought a car or whatever your ok as long as you can prove your an AB resident.

I brought a vehicle up through a sask crossing and it was no issue with PST.
