View Full Version : Help me find some new truck wheels that aren't ugly as hell.

So my OEM rim size is 16.5", and the aftermarket rims that came with my truck are 16.5". Obviously this presents a problem when buying new rubber, as there's only pretty much 2 tires still being made in this size.

Unfortunately I can't find jack-shit that would be suitable for my truck, they're all ugly as hell IMO. I love the ones that came with it (Eagle Alloys), and think they really match the truck well but they aren't made anymore.

Can anyone suggest something, typically domestic bolt pattern of 8x6.5 (8x165.1).

Current rims

OEM rims which also look good on the truck

This is the truck they're for.

Volk TE-37

Scratch that, I don't think they come in 8 bolt.

Toyota TRD rims. A bit costly though.

Those were the only style I could find so far that would work, but I'm still looking for more options.

I love those old turbine wheels! Too bad 16.5's suck to get tires for... I know options are more limited, but there should be some 16 and 17 inch 8-6.5 out there..

16" or 17" and your options open up a huge amount. Do that, ditch the half-size.

Well... yeah... kind of why I started the thread, lol.

Lots of 6 bolt, and 5 bolt ones, but so far no luck on the 8 bolt. Guess I don't need them right away though, so I'll just keep checking ebay and stuff.

Just search by bolt patterns, there are quite a few of them.

discounttire.com (http://www.discounttiredirect.com)

Can't get the link to work, but if you search by bolt pattern you actually get quite a few hits. Maybe something will work for you?

What about the OEM 16" Alcoa Aluminum wheels from the 92-97 Ford F250? I think they'd look pretty good on that truck.

Procomp and Mickey Thompson both make dedicated nice truck wheels that might go with that style.

Yeah, I've looked through all those already, the only "new" ones that I think really suit the truck are the Alcoa's, or the look alike "bullet hole" ones.

I'm just going to keep checking ebay and kijiji for some original turbines I think. There's a few out there, but are refurbished already and too much for me right now. As I said, I'm not in a rush.

Just start walking the aisles at PYP weekly... Should be a few options cheaply available there, the tire resellers snag the stuff with good rubber as it hits the yard - but wheels with bald rubber tend to sit forever...
