US debt ceiling its about to be hit, government shutdown, cats and dogs living together, US dollar collapse, zombie apocalypse...

Is government irrelevant? Should Governments be shutdown for years at a time instead of weeks or months?

Only a matter of time until the economy collapses ... you can't grow under perpetual debt forever.

I was hiking in a park last week and almost got arrested because the park was closed (no staff) how does that work?

You can if you keep bombing anyone who doesn't use your currency as world standards.

It wasn't unsafe, we were harassed because we were in the park and it was closed.

but that's beside the point, what I found weird was that the park warden interrupted our meeting (in open government facilities located within park boundaries) wearing full uniform, to tell us that we couldn't go in the park because it was closed because there were no employees to staff it. I found that a bit ironic.

http://www.usdebtclock.org/

One day after the agreement: 17.030 trillion debt.

Its amazing how quickly that number goes up, 300 Billion in one day just due to all of the delayed accounting wrangling that they had to do before - that they no longer have to, and can bring it up to what it "should" be.

Debt per citizen is now $53,750, Debt to GDP 106.9%.
