Saw this on Sarcee -> Glenmore/Hwy8 today.

Looked awesome.

Tried to give the guy a thumbs up.

Maybe it's this one?

It was listed in kijiji a few weeks back. My little bro is in the market for a car and I checked this wagon out with him in Crowfoot. It's in really good shape for the year. Definitely a cool car. This particular one is a JDM import.

A little wiki-foo seemed to indicate that ALL of these particular Alpinas were JDM...?

Oh ya? I didn't realize that.

I think that is a JDM Alpina. It has that weird ass plate thing under the license plate. I've only seen those on the JDM BMW's. Both RHD and LHD.

It would probably be sold if it wasn't an autotragic.

EDIT:

From the same website: E36 325TD 5MT Wagon

He was trying to trade that for every vehicle listed on beyond for a good while lol.

I've driven a few Alpinas that are JDM rejects, they always have more pep but the auto's are always near death and hate 1-2 shifts hah.

Wonder if a tranny swap for a stick is feasible.

If you want to spend $5k+ on a $15k e36, sure it is.

That's the kind of car that will start appreciating if you keep it original. That car will never be fast, it's cool because it is one of less than 150 ever produced.

I doubt it. There's a few cool Alpina's out there, namely the turbocharged E24 and E28 variants, along with E31's and V8 swapped E36's, but there's really nothing special about this one. It's basically the least special Alpina ever made. Low production doesn't automatically equal high value.

Alpina's are a niche market here in North America, and a Touring is even less desirable to most people. While it is a nice car, and features 240hp, the demand for them isnt high. I have had the pleasure of getting to drive it and it pulls just as hard as my friends M3 Sedan.

If I was going to import an E36 Alpina it would be the B8 4.0L Sedan. Only 6 were ever made. Chassis #002 sold in Japan in July for $11,000. Chassis #003 is in Regina.
