Now that it's getting cold I'm having a large number of these Beatles/bugs crawling around outside and quite a few getting inside. I'll try to take a picture of the next one instead of instantly murdering it. But off this vague description anyone know what I'm dealing with?

I guess the subject was a little lacking. They are mostly black. Longer than they are wide with patches of red along their back.

Maple bugs, so bloody annoying. I thought they were a springtime thing though? I remember at least a few years back in high school they were so bad you couldn't take a step without killing a couple.

Edit: holy shit, just realized "a few years back in high school" is more like 10 years ago. wow.

I just massacred a bunch of those little red bugs trying to hibernate in my garage. Raid does the trick.

I was just thinking the same thing. I remember when there was a huge infestation of these little bastards and playing basketball was nearly out of the question because you'd just get a bunch of squished bugs on it

I feel your pain. I felt one crawling up my leg last night. Unwanted beetles in my bed = war.

I sprayed a perimeter around the house and along any possible access points into the house. I also directly blasted any I saw outside and can proudly say I'm slowly winning this war. There is still some that managed to get inside and hide and they fly into me from time to time, but I quickly dispatch them. :guns: :guns:

AAACCK!!....YOU!!

I looked up this bug you speak of and think to myself...."I've never seen one of these before". And then yesterday I use the basement bathroom and what do I see, dead on the floor...

Usually I see those creepy "wood bugs" in my basement.

I was just in Medicine Hat this weekend. They are everywhere there. You guys who are freaking out realize they are pretty much totally harmless. I've always thought they were kinda neat.

Actually, you're not.

You're poisoning your living space to get rid of something that poses no threat to you.

While you probably won't exhibit any acute symptoms, this certainly can't be good for you.

Import some spiders. Wait, does that help or hurt things?
