I don't really see much discussion on here on ATV's but figure there has got to be a couple of you guys out there...
I am fairly new to ATV's. I am looking to pick up a Honda 420 rancher off of a family friend to use as a toy and hit the trails or for hunting, he is giving me a great deal on it.
The problem is that the last time he was out he managed to submerge it under water and said that when he drained the oil it was a creamy/mocha color.
He flushed the engine by pouring diesel into it and performing numerous oil changes until the oil was clear. The ATV's performance seems normal but it smokes A LOT! It is burning oil and also blows oil out of the exhaust and the spark plug gets clogged up too with oil residue which causes the engine to stall.... long story short, he figures the engine needs an overhaul and wants to just get rid of it.
My question is: Where would someone go for an engine rebuild? Would any of you guys have the knowledge and wouldn't mind making a couple bux?
