It would be held by a winch hook that grabs onto a cylindrical support (typically) placed around the middle of the side of the bin.

In past experiences they usually pull it flat on the back of the truck, secure it and maintain the winch hook on the pickup spot for safety....

It has 2 forks, like a forklift that slide into those pockets the same way the BFI trucks pick up the bins. He lowers the forks so they are level then backs up to the bin with the forks sliding into the pockets. then he tilts it up and lifts.

These are on pickups and little cab overs etc. for many of the bin companies, they are for dropping off / picking up new & empty bins.
