LF: Winter beater/commuter under $2500

LF: car under $2500

As the title states I am looking for a cheap 2 or 4 door to get back and fourth to work. I figured I would post this up first here before dealing with the goons on Kijiji.. Looking for something in excellent mechanical condition, with very little to no work requried.

Not too worried on the make, body, or Kms as long as its been well maintained.

Some requirements
NO white coloured cars.
NO Dodge/Chrysler products
Preference given to 5 speed imports.
No junk as I know cars quite well.
Cheaper the better.

A family member has a 2000 ish Chevy Tracker 4x4 he wants $1800 for it, was his daughters SUV, it has a 4 cyl and I think its 5 speed. Same basic vehicle as a Suzuki Sidekick. I don't know all the details so if you are interested I can find out more and send some pics/info.

PM me, I sure as hell dont need yet another vehicle, but nothing I have is good in the winter at all, so I may have to buy yet another.
