First the C7: I believe this was a record: 11.67 at 120mph. Bone stock, auto, stock tires, no weight reduction, no cool down. It was red so I'm sure that helped. He was cooling it down for another pass but I didn't see the run. Had a LMR (local Houston shop) plate on the rear, and he said they're going to do a documented build. 410whp stock. I sat in it. Felt good. Not sold on the looks yet. LMR did a another C7 with heads, small cam, full exhaust C7 and it made ~510whp with the manual 7 speed. No track times I'm aware of.

On to me:
Track: Royal Purple Raceway, Baytown, TX. Close to sea level.
2008 Z06
20,000mi
B&B PRT catback
Haltech CAI (didn't add any mph)
17' MT drag radials

It was fairly busy so I only got 2 runs in. I took some online burnout recommendations backing into the box rather then driving through. I had all the traction I needed. Just need more seat time to improve further on the launch.

First pass:
3000rpm
bogged
1.87 60'
11.48 at 124.8mph

Second pass:
3500rpm
launch felt good
1.76 60'
11.39 at 123.8mph

On both passes, my 1-2 shifts felt great, 2-3 felt good, but listening back at the videos, 3-4 can be quicker.

120mph for a stock C7 seems suspect.

All the testing thus far has them in the 115mph range.

Turns out the C7 had a tune. It ended up going 11.47 later that night!!!

Quote: There were two brand new 2014 Corvettes at the track. Although we never raced side by side, we did get some back to back runs. The automatic trans C7's are no joke at the dragstrip. The red C7 (EDIT: Has a custom dyno tune) ran an 11.73 @ 118 (1.74 60') right behind me. He later went 11.67, and then after a very long cool-down and pushing it into the water box, it clicked off an 11.47 @ 121, once the DA hit +250 around 11pm. That is a new record for C7s. I know the owner, the car is stock and is a non-Z51 base model automatic. There is something really cool about how they launch, the almost seem to have a higher stall converter on the initial bite, then once the car moves out a few feet, the converter locks up and the tires haze a tiny bit. It consistently cut 1.7 times on the stock tires, regardless of how the track prep went downhill. They are also geared perfectly for the 1/4-mile, hitting the top of 3rd gear at the finish line. The blue C7 (all stock) went 12.52 @ 118, spinning off the line. It later went 11.8 from what I was told. It appears GM did their homework with the automatic C7's. They are solid 11 second cars.

Man those new vettes are fucking fast.

Funny I was telling my brother about the new LTI engine. It's only recommended premium fuel and also read it will run on regular. What this says is a tune with quite aggressive timing tables built for 93octane + will yield serious power.

That vette is seeing 500 + hp AND tq.

Nuts. Also great runs by you.

Nice runs

Very impressed with the new vette's, IMO they look great in person, much better than in pictures.
