View Full Version : Ride share

I use kijiji's and craigslist's ride share section all the time, because I frequently drive an empty vehicle back to Kelowna on vacation, and like to have the company.

Would there be any interest in having a ride share section here on beyond?

I would much rather carpool/ride share with people of my own age group, and perhaps other people that share an interest in the kinds of topics represented here.

Knowing a large portion of the user group here definitely is preferable to some of the weird people I've given rides to from kijiji

Wouldn't be a bad idea actually. Plenty of people doing trips back and forth to Edmonton, Kelowna, Vancouver, etc.

The section could double for people taking trucks / trailers to Edmonton and back and are empty one way etc.

Giving it its own section seems like a bit of overkill for something that may be used periodically. Just create threads or a megathread in the Travel and Vacation section. If it looks like it is something used frequent enough, then we can re-evaluate whether or not it needs its own section.

For future reference, is pants on optional in your car?

Sounds good d'z, maybe we can meet half way and get you to sticky a thread in the travel section? Having it visible will remind and encourage people to use it.

I'll create a thread tonight when I get home.

Could also go in the general section, up to mods I suppose.

The problem I see is that people on beyond have cars and generally enjoy driving. Probably not the crowd to need rides.
