As promised, some photos! I was able to pick up one ticket to the underground CERN open days and was there on September 29th. The tour lasted about 15 minutes, it was very quick, and they didn't leave more than 10-15 seconds for photos at each stop. The groups were small at 10-12 per group.
I met two guys in line for the tour, one was actually interning at CERN for the engineering group that helps more accurately 'steer' the beams for more head-on collisions. Very cool to chat with him.
It was absolutely mind-blowing to see in person, the scale of this project is incredible :eek:
