british army surplus - OOP/RIV???

Ok, Thos damn chaps down at suffield have me thinking again...

So BATUS dumped another bunch of surplus vehicles recently...

And some are ...Interesting... :)

What would they need to be registered in alberta?

To be clear - they're foreign military surplus vehicles... So, not exactly RIV... Not OOP... ?!?!?!

Bedford MK's are popping up on kijiji (think unimog - 4ton cab-over 4x4) - A source tells me a few defenders (yeah the good UK military ones) were set loose too.

Not sure what else was set free - should be interesting to see what appears...

So long as they're 15+ years old, but yes they still need OOP as they would have still been "British" registered, even if they've been in AB for years.

Yeah, the 15 year rule still applies. Other than that it should be a fairly straight forward process. Check with ALRE (Land Rover Club).

those Bedfords were sold at RB auctions (Edmonton I think)

he was asking way to much for them and if I recall correctly they sold for about $3000 each.

One of the d90s is up for 34k already...

Master heco - are these the Mk or mj Bedford's? RB wasn't the auction I heard about - it'll be interesting to see what gets flipped...

If its an mj with the Perkins turbo... I'll be doing some shopping...

I'm unsure as to what they are.
I just saw them when I was browsing an rb Edmonton auction then the following week these bedfords appeared on kijiji. also the Defenders your referring to were released about 6 months ago and it was quite a few in various conditions. those were being let go from GCsurplus right from the base.

Are you sure thats one of them? It looks identical to a Defender i saw in Royal Oak back in early October. I talked the guy and he said hes had it a while.
