Just another post for AndyL and his perfect workmanship on replacing my garage door!

Thanks AndyL!

Here's what happened.. The garage door that came with my place is super old and thus it needs to be replaced. I called up some guys in yellowpage and a few responded with expensive quotes...saying close to 5000 to get two doors done ... thought it may be way over my budget so I searched up beyond to see which handyman is recommended. AndyL appears to be the best choice so I gave him a call.

Andy responded with quickly and came by last weekend to do the garage door for me . For two doors it costs less than 2000, ( I don't know if AndyL wants me to disclose the exact costs) but Andy is professional and fast. +1 for AndyL. and Don't trust those people in yellowpage IMO.

Andy is fantastic. Helped us out even though we were renting at the time.

Would use him again in the future at our new place and recommend him to friends/family.

Just asking because you told my brother you hurt your hand and couldn't do his door. Hasn't heard from you in a few weeks.

He's going to hold off on getting it done for a bit now anyway

Crap, nick.

I'll own that one - I totally lost track of him waiting on that supplier to call and say they had more doors (they dropped a full stack the second time around)

I'll give him a call

Just asked since I was the one that backed into his door in the first place:rofl:

Think he's going to wait a few months to get it replaced now though

Yup. Andy is the man! I had him come install a highlift kit and Liftmaster 8500 at my place in September. He even showed me what to do with the existing control wiring and how to get power over to the unit since I didn't have an outlet nearby. Everything worked perfectly.

I will definitely use him again when I need to replace my actual door. Great guy, good pricing and as for customer support, well I had to call him to ask a wiring question at 7pm at night...that's pretty damn good customer support.

Andy Fixed up my Dads house, he was the only one that gave a shit and actually remedied the problem instead of patching it

Saw his high lift garage modification at a beyonder's place.
Great work. If I get a lift, I'll definitely be getting my door changed by Andy.

This was the single best thing I did out of anything so far for my garage. It really transformed how "big" the space seems now.

I still need to install the new lockset in my man door because the current one seizes up and is difficult to unlock from the outside. Since Andy installed my 8500 I just use the overhead door instead. ;)

The lifts you guys mention, is that for storing an extra car in the garage or simply for working on cars?

Another  for AndyL! My high lift conversion is pretty sweet. Opening it with my cell phone is :bigpimp:

Another +1 for Andy. Been seriously procrastinating posting pics for his install. Had Sam, a dude Andy has done work with in the past, convert my 10x7 door to 16x8, then had Andy do the door install. All went very smooth, definitely recommend!

From my experience... It appears to be about 70% extra parking spot. Only done 3 in garages with 2post lifts; as far as the 4 posts most have the plastic drip trays and not the sliding jacks...

Bump for Andy, he came and in installed the 8500 on my house today. Great guy, quick instal,l and good price considering i dont live in Calgary (will also work for pulled pork :D) . Just my .02 but if you have the chance to get a liftmaster go with the internet gateway add on it will easily save you big $$ in gas when your wife doesnt have to go home frequently from work thinking she left the garage door open

Look like you need an electrician to add a plug for that sweet side mount ;) I know a good one! I will need to give Andy a call to do mine in the future when I get around to changing it!

I called him to help my older brother out, who was having tons of sensor issues with his garage. He charged my bro $20, for what could have cost 10X more if done by anybody else. He also came on a moments notice, which really helped.

Very well recommended. Andy is honestly awesome, super cool guy as well.
Best in Calgary for sure.

I have meant to post a big thanks to AndyL for a while now.

Our garage door was stuck last Thanksgiving and he came out on a Sunday of a long weekend and fixed it.

Then when we moved both garage doors at our new house got trashed and he came right away to fix that as well. He even helped us move some furniture into the garage! What service!

Great service and very reasonable pricing as well!

Thanks Andy!

Bumpity!

Once again, Andy to the rescue. A spring on the door popped Monday afternoon and within 24 hours Andy had it repaired & operational at a very reasonable price. Anything garage door related - Andy is the man!

Yup, but you need a bit more...

There's a package on amazon / eBay that has the (I think its 888lm wall station - the MyQ retrofit one) and interweb gateway that'll let you do that.

Sweetness. I have 0 need for this, but going to get it...because that is what I do haha, geek out. Best of all I have a remote accessible camera in my garage as well pointing at the door, so I can get double confirmation :D

I assume my wireless light will still work, it's a liftmaster one that came in the 3800 kit I bought.
