So I am in desperate need of another winter vehicle as my gf and i are sharing my delica right now. Now im not one to buy a regular old car or truck cuz that bores me. I need something Original, rare and fun to drive. As well as some practicality. so the 2 cars im up in the air about right now are:

1. 1991 Nissan pulsar gti-r awd turbo with 200,000km for $5000 ish

Seems like a real fun car to drive. real nimble and decent acceleration. Will get me anywhere i need to be all year round

http://alberta.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehi...AdIdZ546434685

2. 1998 Mitsubishi Pajero evo 4x4 twin turbo with 100,000 for $10,000 ish

seems like it would be a bit more practical for people moving but probly harder on gas and maybe not quite as fun to drive.

What do u guys think?

Drive both and see which you like better.

both are overpriced, RHD is a bitch to insure as well. i'd personally never own an sr20 with 200k kms either :nut:

Word those sound way over priced

If you are looking for turbo awd and practicality you should also be looking at some wrx's.

i dont know about the pulsar but the evo is priced pretty fair. I sold my reg 1997 pajero for 10500 just a couple months ago. besides, money is not a issue. I just dont like new cars. I hated my mazdaspeed 6 and havent gone back to new since.

I have imported a few jdm vehicles and the cheapest i could get one here for is 8k with higher km and then im hoping its in good shape. I would pay 10k just to be able to test drive it and make sure it was in good condition.

missed the evo part... thats pretty neat. i'd go with that one... or import a stagea wagon, with the RB26. depends how much room you need

did the Stagea ever come with an RB26?

the only ones that ever seemed to come into the UK were RB25s...

Its not the engine you need to watch out for on the Pulsars...it's the gearbox and rust

I had a SR20 180SX that had 193000km on it, a bigger turbo and tuned by Toma a few years ago, and it ran great, but I was the first owner in Canada and got the car completely stock and in great condition.

Yup, autech(sp?) version... you pay a premium for them though

Both are about twice as much as I'd pay for such cars/vans. :nut:

A 1991 Pulsar for $5k? um..... I'll happily pass thanks.

Do you know what a GTi-R is?

if youre looking at a stagea, look at a mitsubishi vr4 legnum too. awd twin turbo v6. it looks sharp as all hell too

^twin turbo = scary

Not sure about that...Mitsubishi already has a bad rep for reliability, but a TT one? ew

there is also the BH5 Legacy wagon with the twin turbo boxer engine. One turbo is for the lower rpms, the 2nd turbo "kicks in" and takes care of the high rpms. They're pretty cheap too, you can get one for $4900 landed.

SR20det turbo + AWD, 2700lb little hatch, hell yeah...very understated compared to WRX/Evo.

So much grey area in the JDM cars...

The Stagea is cool. Pretty much an R34 skyline wagon. Has the RB25 I believe, turbo. ~250hp. There classified as "estate" wagons and weigh in over 3600lbs.

Watching them drift is hilarious...

What I know is I see GTIRs for 3000ish on a semi regular basis and wouldn't ever pay more than that for one. :D

Given the options I'd probably look for a pulsar.... or a wrx :D

Show me where so I can buy one lol. Those hood scoops are worth $3k in oldschool jdm points alone :bigpimp:

I see 1 or 2 a year. Not in phenomenal shape, but about the same risk as buying a $5k one. There was a blue one that was passed around a bit for $3k a couple times a little while ago.

I don't know anything about either vehicle but I sure do like that Pajero.

It looks unnecessarily over the top.... I really like it.
