Recently I replaced the hot water tank(Natural Gas and Power Vent). The original hot water tank had a black vent and the plumber told me that they need to replace the vent. Apparently the code has been changed and the vent need to use the new pipes (I can't remember the number) for venting.
The question I have is when the house was built the vent what we currently have was in line with the code. In this case do they have to replace the vent?
