I am planning to go to Manhattan for a couple of weeks in July and I know my personal exemption is $750CAD. However if I go over that, does anyone know what the rates are for duty for specific items... such as:
- Car Parts
- Clothing
- Jewellery
- Electronics

there are two things to consider.
1. Where they are made.
2. What they are.
Clothing made anywhere but US and Mex is 6% I think.
I think that everything else is dependant on what it is, meaning is it a fender, a turbo, etc... they all might have diff rates.

Mexican or US automotive parts fall under NAFTA and are only subject to GST.

Assuming it is all made in the US, I am pretty sure that you only have to pay GST given everything should fall under NAFTA.
