Gmail Notifier

Just got an email from google stating that their mail notifier program will be discontinued (no longer supported) at the end of this month.

How many of you use it?

I do and quite like it, especially being at a computer all day, the popup notifications are great, and I always wished I could find something like it for hotmail as well. Sad to see it go, things are getting pushed to smartphones more and more these days it seems.

I know the desktop one is going but is the plugin for chrome going to go too?

It's not needed because Chrome already has built in notifications. Use Chrome. You don't need the alpha with google now either.

I already use chrome, but I like having the notification in the task bar, not near the address bar. CHANGE IS SCARY
