I've already wagered on the Seahawks against a friend of mine who is a Broncos fan.

#1 offence vs #1 defense. Should be a good game!

Not big money or anything, but placed this last May

Can't see the Broncs losing this one. For legacy purposes and to shed the choker image, Peyton is gonna have the game of his life. My money is on the Broncos.

Defence wins games but I'm liking the Broncos. They have a very decent D and the best O in the league. I hate both teams though.

The Seahawks are my "home team". I love Peyton Manning. I hate Sherman.

I still don't know who to cheer for. I'm just glad NE and SF are out :D

Seahawks are not at home, so the home field advantage they enjoyed this season is a non event. Having watched every Seattle game this season (they are my team), they will need to play far better than the garbage of last weekend against SF. Denver will be my money pick, need to look at the point spread though.

They haven't had a losing road record in the last two years either. the SB is not really a home or away game. There will be fans there of all natures.

Either way, I'm taking the Broncos

I am not betting anything this time, I was wrong in the conf champs on both sides, so I am not betting the superbowl.

I was sure it was going to be a Pats vs 49rs for sure!

lasimmon

Bronco's only win if their running game gets going and has a monster game. I doubt even Manning has an astounding day against a defense he hasn't really experienced this year (skill wise). Also he tends to get off his game when it counts most.

I feel like if Russel Wilson and co get going on offence and Lynch goes beast mode there is no way they lose.

Question is, can wilson and the seahawks offence put enough points on the board? Hawks defence is unreal, I'm sure they'll be able to hold the broncos to 20-25ish, but if the offence continues to play like shit then it won't matter.

You should have jumped on this earlier. Seattle opened as a 2 pt favorite and now Denver is a 2-2.5 pt favorite.

Denver did a great job on the NE run game. 64 yards rushing. NE isn't a huge rushing team but after they put up 234 yards against the Colts the prior week it was huge.

Clearly when they prepared for NE that was a huge focus and I think they will be even more prepared for Seattle.

I still hate both these teams though.

Ya just put up the most yards against the #4 rush defense in the conference championship game, oh and the only player to run for over 100 yards against them all year..... Completely shut down

Lynch had a 40 yard run and basically did nothing before and after that.
Russell Wilson hasn't done much the second half of the season either. They've just been riding Lynch all the way to the SB. I'm going with Manning and the Broncs.

I love the Seahawks but they need to stop with the turnovers/fumbles. They may have got away with it against the 49ers but Manning will make you pay big time on turnovers.

Lynch had a 40 yard run and basically did nothing before and after that. If you take out his longest run in each game he's barely averaging 3 yards a carry. NO was his best game in recent memory but he also got the ball more than any other game this year. Seriously, every game I've paid attention to him he's been average at best, but then once per game he'll find/make a gap and exploit the shit out of it. That's the same as any other RB though.

I feel like the hype around him comes from the fact that he's on Seattle, but I'm willing to admit I'm not educated enough to be firm on this.

buh_buh
01-21-2014, 06:28 PM
He also had a 30 yard run against NO on 28 carries. Take away that 30 yard run and he's down to 100 yards rushing on 27 carries. Again, not that impressive.

I know he still made those long runs, but as Mibz says, he's not that good every down.

niners outplayed seattle the majority of that game.

it came down to a couple lucky plays for the hawks and some bad luck for the niners. losing lupati and bowman plus some of the bad calls.... even then the niners had a good shot to win.

hawks are a good team but not a great offense and they arent likely to keep denver off the board.

Hate the seahawks, but their going to win. In a battle of Great offense Vs. Great defense, the defense has won much more.

Of any QB in the league that'll be capable of picking apart Seattle's cover 3, Manning is. Seattle's cover 3 is considerably more aggressive than the typical version, but when you're pressing guys like DT and Decker, you're going to have to soften the coverage somewhere and that'll either be in the slot or at the TE position which means a lot of passes too Welker and Thomas. Both of whom are deadly.

Having said that, Lynch vs Ball/Moreno is going to be really important. Broncos turn the ball over a lot on fumbles, and the Seahawks will probably want to keep the ball out of Manning's hands as much as possible.

i think its mannings year, so im taking the broncos.

that being said, the seahawks D will keep this game very close. it may come down to the last drive and if its peyton with the ball, hes gonna close the show. if its on russel, im thinking broncos will be able to shut him down.

wilson will have to come up HUGE, because that run game will be shutdown by the broncos front line. he's made big plays the last two weeks, when it mattered but if one of those 50 yrd bombs didnt connect, we might seeing a different matchup this year.

Brutal. If that game was on regular season I would have turned it off at the half.

Ive seen lots of games with Manning and he seemed tense and not himself (yes this has lots to do with 300 pound defense men charging at him more than usual). But even in general he was second guessing himself and throwing them not even close to receivers. I think Sanchez could have even done a better job...
