I was using US-unblock but I couldn't get it working on my Android and now that I have a Telus router I couldn't get it to work either.

So I switched to VPN traffic which worked well but they have totally dropped the ball with my log-in details working only two weeks at a time, despite my one year subscription!

So what's a fast VPN that will work on my Android and the Telus router? Preferably if they had an application that comes with to turn it off/on via login that'd be favourable.

I have been using cyberghost:
https://store.cyberghostvpn.com/848/?scope=checkout&cart=136140&x-parameter=NewsletterENLaunchCG5_1013Inactive5&piwik_campaign=Newsletter&piwik_kwd=NewsletterENLaunchCG5_1013Inactive5&currency=USD
That link lets you have it for a year for $7 but only includes certain servers but US is one. Seems to be very fast and on PC there is an app to switch your location which is nice. On my N7 I set it up but I didn't like having a lock screen so I stopped using it. It gives you VPN settings to set up through the android vpn settings but I never tried a different vpn app. Worked perfectly for netflix though on my pc and tablet at least.

I am guessing your issues with the telus router is the fact you couldn't specify DNS? If that is the case, you can actually do it pretty easily, just have to go to the url directly. I can look up the info later for you if that is your issue.

Yeah that was the problem. I was also looking for a European server to use as well.

The link doesn't appear to be working.

I've been using UnoDNS. Not the same as the VPN but it will get you US/International Netflix and Hulu. I just set the DNS on the router and all our machines are streaming US...

Not going to protect you if you're downloading or anything. If you need anonymity stick with the VPN plan.

There's a difference between a VPN and a service like unblock us (DNS redirect)

DNS service like unblock us is what u want if u just want to get us netflix etc

Login to your router with the following info:

Username: tech
Password: t3lu5tv

then navigate to this site

http://192.168.1.254/advancedsetup_dhcpsettings.html

There you can change your DNS to what you want.

private internet

VPN lets you chose where you want your IP to come from.

You're lucky...I have been using this VPN for a while now. The first year was fine, but then recently I am having a lot of issues with dropouts. I find the US one to be relatively stable but the other sites are pretty dicey.
