I just bought an FX5900XT. Here are some Halo screen shots. Notice the little horizontal lines??? Are thoes supose to be there? This is on 1152 x 864 resoloution. I have the Nvidia utility set to "high performance", stock clocks. Even when i set it to high quality i still find images and movies not as sharp, and with the lines.

If you're referring to the jaggies, they're normal. If you want to get rid of them at the cost of performance, turn on FSAA (full screen anti-aliasing) and AFiltering. Dunno how well ur halo's gonna run afterwards considering its a resource whore. have fun

-MSI FX5900XT 14237

The 5900xt is probably the best for buck in the market right now, for 200bucks you get a wicked card. A farer 2nd would be the 9600xt I think. You think the screen isnt "sharp" cause you have FSAA on, I'm guessing you have at least 4x, probably closer to 8x, FSAA on, but its hard to tell cause the pictures are resized. You can turn it off if you dont like it. Its just in the driver settings.

AF doesn't take anyway jaggies, it gives you better, sharper looking progression of texture compression.

I bought a Radeon 9800 XT a couple of months back for 600 bones.

Cost me an arm and a leg but I'm sooooo happy with it. Everything looks so nice! :D

The 9800Pro is so cheap now, even compared to like a couple months ago. A 9800Pro can be had for like 300bucks now, compared to 600+ before.
The XT is expensive though, for double the price you get a card thats only like 5-10% faster MAX. Thats just insane. But for those that need the best, I guess this will be it. Since the top end nV 5950ultra isnt around yet.
